If at any point in time we decide to make use of any personally identifiable information on file, in a manner vastly different from that which was stated when this information was initially collected, the user or users shall be promptly notified by email.     To provide our services to the Users, we must collect Personal Information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Information that can be used to identify, contact or locate a User is “Personal Information” or “personally identifiable information”.  It is always up to you whether to disclose personally identifiable information to us, although if you elect not to do so, we reserve the right not to register you as a user or provide you with our Services.

    a. Identity Data Information such as, your full name(s), your government-issued identity number, and your date of birth. This data is to enable us to verify your identity in order to offer our services to you;

    b. Contact Data This is data that is needed to reach out to you, such as your contact address, email address, telephone number, details of the device you use and billing details.

    c. Identity Documents Such as your passport or any Government-issued identity card, a photograph (if applicable) and any other registration information you may provide to prove you are eligible to use our services and in compliance with regulatory requirements on Know Your Customer (KYC)

Log/Technical information  When you access our Services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website, links you have clicked on, length of visit on certain pages, unique device identifier, log-in information, location as well as the type of browser you are using, IP address, or type of operating system, which will assist us in providing and maintaining superior quality service.

    e. Payment Data These are information relating to a payment when you as a merchant (using one or more of our payment processing services) or as a customer, are using our products or services;

    f. Marketing Data This includes both a record of your decision to subscribe or to withdraw from receiving marketing materials from us or from our third parties.

    g. Communication Data 

    This includes records of your discussions with us, if we contact you and if you contact us.

    Please be rest assured that We will only collect personal information that you knowingly and willingly provide to us by way of surveys, completed membership forms, and emails. It is the intent of this site to use personal information only for the purpose for which it was requested, and any additional uses specifically provided for on this Policy. 

    Information We Collect Using TrueDepth Camera API

    When you use our identity verification feature, we collect face data to confirm your identity against your Governement issued document. This data is securely processed and stored by our trusted service provider, Smile ID, solely for verification purposes.

    Grant has put robust privacy measures in place to ensure compliance with data privacy laws like GDPR, while implementing Smiles ID for identity verification. By capturing specific data points (such as the camera's intrinsic matrix, facial expressions, head orientation, and other relevant metrics) and comparing them with identification documents, Grant is aiming for secure and accurate user authentication.

    Duration of Face Data Storage


    Your face data is retained during the initial verification process and is securely deleted within 90 days once the verification is complete, unless required to be stored longer for security, auditing, or legal compliance.

    Retention Period


    We do not store your face data indefinitely and are committed to securely removing it as per our policy timelines.

    Third-Party Data Sharing


    For the purpose of identity verification, we may share face data with our third-party identity verification partner, Smile ID. They handle this data under strict privacy policies that align with our own security standards and ensure user privacy. Beyond this partner, we do not share, sell, or disclose face data to any other third parties.

    How We Collect Your Personal Information and Why We Have It

    Customers’ data is collected electronically when they visit our website and register to use any of our services. This is collected electronically with exchanges between your system (Computer, Server, Mobile Device) or service provider’s system and our system.

    We collect Customers’ data manually when they complete our product and services registration forms in registering to use any of our services. Similar data are also collected when customers or visitors visit our physical locations for inquiries or business relationships.

    We collect information from or about customers from other sources, such as through your contact with us, including our Customer Support interfaces – email, portal, phone calls, social media, and other communication channels; Customer support teams, Customer response to surveys, Training programs, Corporate Social Responsibility events, Promotional events, and interactions with members Grants or other companies (subject to their privacy policies and applicable law).

    We must have a legal basis (a valid legal reason) for collecting and using your Personal Information. Our legal basis will be one of the following:

    a. Contractual Obligation We need certain Personal Information to provide our services and cannot provide them without this. 

    b. Legal Obligations  To ensure we are fully compliant with all applicable financial legislations such as Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing Laws, we must collect and store your Personal Information. We protect against fraud by checking your identity with your Personal Information.

    a. Check your Identity  Whenever you sign up with us, we will use your Personal Information to check your identity or the identity of joint account holders (as part of our KYC process). This may include facial scan data extracted from any photo or video you submit (known as ‘biometric data’).

    b. Providing our Services  Whenever you apply for or use a Grants product or service, we’ll use your Personal Information to: Decide whether or not to approve your application. Meet our contractual and legal obligations relating to any products or services you use. Provide you with customer support services. We may record and monitor any communications between you and us, including phone calls, to maintain appropriate records, check your instructions, analyse, assess and improve our services, and for training and quality control purposes.

    c. Protecting against Fraud  We use your Personal Information to check your address and identity, protect against fraud and unauthorized transactions, keep to financial crime laws and to confirm that you’re eligible to use our Services. We also use it to help us better understand your financial circumstances and manage fraud risks related to your Grants account.

    d. Marketing and Promotion Activities  We use your Personal Information to do the following:  to personalise your in-app experience and marketing messages about our products and services so they’re more relevant and interesting to you (where allowed by law). This may include analysing how you use our products, services and your transactions. if you agree, provide you with information about our partners’ promotions or offers which we think you might be interested in. if you agree, allow our partners and other organisations to provide you with information about their products or services - ask your opinion about our products or services.

    e. To keep our Services up and running  We use your Personal Information to manage our website and the Grants App, (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes), and to make sure that content is presented in the most effective way for you and your device.

    f. Improving our Products and Services  We use your Personal Information to help us develop and improve our current products and services. For example, we may include you in a focus group to test and develop new products because we think you will be interested based on how you spend or use other Grants products. This allows us to continue to provide products and services that our customers want to use.

    g. Meeting our legal obligations, enforcing our rights, protecting our business and other legal uses We use your Personal Information: To share it with other organisations (for example, government authorities, law enforcement authorities, tax authorities, fraud prevention agencies) If this is necessary to meet our legal or regulatory obligations To identify and support vulnerable customers by letting you tell us if you need help or analyzing your behavior in the Grants App, customer support communications and through transactions (for example, we will try to identify whether you are potentially vulnerable so we can provide you with enhanced support. Identifying and supporting vulnerable customers is a legal requirement for us in some countries) To protect ourselves, including our rights, property, personnel or products In connection with legal claims To help detect or prevent crime For other purposes for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection.

    Storage of Personal Information 

    We store and process your personal information on our computers in the United Kingdom and anywhere else where our facilities are located. We protect your information using physical, technical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration.

    Some of the safeguards we use are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers, and information access authorization controls. We have also taken additional measures by ensuring our system complies with industry information security standards.

    Data Security and Retention  

    The security of your Personal Information is important to Grants. We are committed to protecting the information we collect. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical controls designed to protect the Personal Information you provide, or we collect against loss or theft, as well as against any unauthorized access, risk of loss, disclosure, copying, misuse or modification.

    Where you use a password for any of your Accounts, please ensure you do not share this with anyone, and the password is kept confidential at all times.

    We are committed to conducting our business in accordance with these principles in order to ensure that the confidentiality of your Personal Information is protected and maintained. Transmitting information online is not entirely secure. As such, we cannot guarantee that all information provided online is secure. We would take all reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Information is secured and well protected. We will only retain personal information on our servers for as long as is reasonably necessary as long as we are providing Services to you. Where you close your Account, your information is stored on our servers to the extent necessary to comply with regulatory obligations and for the purpose of fraud monitoring, detection and prevention. Where we retain your Personal Information, we do so in compliance with limitation periods under the applicable law.

    Sharing Your Personal Information  

    We may disclose or share your Personal Information with third parties which include our affiliates, employees, officers, service providers, agents, suppliers, subcontractors as may be reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy.

    Grants only shares personal information with External Third parties in the following limited circumstances:

    a. We have your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any personal information; We share Personal Information with third parties directly authorized by you to receive Personal Information, such as when you authorize a third-party application provider to access your account. The use of your Personal Information by an authorized third party is subject to the third party's privacy policy and Grants shall bear no liability for any breach which may arise from such authorization by you.

    b. We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on our behalf. We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

    c. We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to: satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of Grants, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.

    d. Grants also may share Personal Information in the event of a merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of all or a portion of our assets, or similar transaction, or in the event of insolvency, bankruptcy or receivership in which your Personal Information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets. Should such an event occur, Grants will endeavor to assure that the acquirer, successor, or assignee (as the case may be) follows this Privacy Policy with respect to your Personal Information. If Personal Information could be used contrary to this Privacy Policy, you will receive prior notice as well as the opportunity to opt out.

    Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information  

    Grants is committed to protecting customers’ personal information regardless of where the data resides and to providing appropriate protection for where such data is transferred across borders, including outside of the United Kingdom. We have further taken measures to ensure our relationships are with countries that are governed by similar data protection regulations. Grants conducts assessments of other entities to provide a reasonable assurance of the safety of customers’ information.

    Marketing 

    We may process your Personal Information in order to contact you or send you marketing content and communication about our products, services or surveys. You may exercise your right to object to such contact from us or opt out from the marketing content. Please note however that if you opt-out of marketing content, we may still send you messages relating to transactions and our Services related to our ongoing business relationship.

    We may ask you for permission to send notifications to you. Our Services will still work if you do not grant us consent to send you notifications.

    b. Right to Access  You have the right to request copies your Personal Information. Grants may charge a fee for this service if it will require a substantial amount of resources to accomplish.

    c. Right to Erasure  You have the right to ask us to erase your Personal Information. Please note that this is a limited right which applies where the data is no longer required, or the processing has no legal justification. The exception to this right is where the applicable law requires Grants to retain a historical archive or where we retain a core set of your Personal Information to ensure we do not inadvertently contact you in future where you object to your data being used for marketing purposes.

    d. Right to Rectification  You have the right to request that Grants corrects any information you believe and have proven has been captured inaccurately. You also have the right to request Grants to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

    e. The Right to Restrict Processing  You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Information in certain circumstances. Please note that where you object to us processing your Personal Information, we might be unable to provide the services to you. 

    f. Right to Object to Processing of Personal Information for Marketing Purpose You have a right to ask us not to contact you for marketing purposes by adjusting your notification preference on the settings page or by opting out via the unsubscribe link in marketing emails we send you.

    The basis of we processing your Personal Information is your consent. You also have the choice at any time to withdraw consent which you have provided.
